About The Portal:

Deep in the back roads of Florida, Freddy Sanchez barely avoids a head on collision with another car and crashes into a pond. A stranger named Mark Jacobson rescues the unconscious Freddy and takes him to his house. Once awake, Freddy realizes some of the paintings in Mark’s living room are signed by famous nineteenth-century artists, but they are unknown pieces... Curious, Freddy snoops around and finds Mark's lab and is nearly killed again, by an oddity of another time.  

Soon enough, Mark divulges that he and his sister, Kelly, have created a functional time machine, but Kelly is stranded in Key West... In the seventeenth-century. They set out to find Kelly and save lost artifacts for posterity. If the rescue mission is a success, they plan to raise funds by attempting to salvage unfound treasure from the Nuestra Señora de Atocha, a Spanish galleon sunk in 1622. Perhaps with conflicting interests, Mark and Freddy strike a loose gentleman’s agreement and a partnership is formed.
